Whats a good book that will explain the basics of book keeping and accounts management?

(If you’re in the US then the accounting laws are a little different from Canada, though.)
I have a For Dummies book for Quickbooks, but I find the breezy, folksy writing a little difficult to deal with. It’s distracting and at times it muddies the explanations because of it. I don’t recommend them.
I’m going through the same thing right now. I’m going to start bringing in a bookkeeping agency occasionally to guide me over the learning curve when I get stuck. I can do the routine tasks like bills, invoices, and reconciliations, but when it comes to the more advanced things I’m not trying to be a hero.
