Setting Long Term Business Goals

Just started a small business what are some short term goals to set.?
If I had a small business what are some great short term goals that could be set to go further into long term goals.
it’d help if you said what your business was.
but I think a generally generic goal is to get some regular client flow…so
-set up a friendly personal experience with clients.
I don’t know how anyone else feels but when i call a place and i get some automated piece of crap answering the phone, I’m immediately turned off by their customer service from the start.
-Give a guy a break
Don’t be afraid to take an occasional hit in the wallet for a hard up client. Good deeds result in that person telling everyone they know what a great honest, compassionate business you run. which gets you more business.
-Be Honest and open
Honesty really is the best policy. My mom was taking out a loan with a bank who promised she didnt have to buy points ( i have no idea what that means, i think it lowers the interest rate or something) She showed the unsigned contract to someone else and they found where that bank had basically renamed these points as something else..which they would have had her pay for. she never signed the contract and when they called her She told them she wouldn’t take their money even if she didn’t have to pay a cent back.
just remember customer satisfaction really does make or break your business.
