Ganttchart For Ibm Rational Clearquest Is Added To The Ibm Global Solutions Directory
CM-Consult (Rational-Tools project) products intended to provide business continuity are added to the international solutions catalogue IBM Global Solutions Directory . IBM Corporation adds to this directory the most significant solutions that are based on IBM technologies and have been successfully implemented for a number of customers.
GanttChart for ClearQuest is added to the IBM Global Solutions Directory with the ID 41151. GanttChart for ClearQuest is a plug-in for IBM Rational ClearQuest 7.0, 7.1 or later version. This plug-in is of interest for everybody who uses IBM Rational ClearQuest and who lacks for project management functionality. The module does not substitute the existing project management tools. It just adds operational slices into IBM Rational. For most users, the functions provided by the plug-in are enough for planning and operation management.

Can someone tell me how UML relates to RUP?
Here is the deal:
I have two interviews… one is going to be heavy on UML and business cases, usability, use cases. I need to get back up to speed with UML approaches in software design.
The other interview is heavy on RUP…
And I want to maximize my efforts. I cant afford to approach them seperately. Maybe someone is aware of a site or tutorial that addresses the common ground between them, the synergy of them in design, things like that?
I appreciate your help very much. I actually do know the stuff, but havent been using it as much as I would have liked to have been and my skills are stale.

Well this is not a short paste and cut answer or laziness of research on my part, but actually wikipedia has an excellent article on RUP and how it is used in the design process (focus on the section called “principles and best practices”).
The idea is that RUP or Rational Unified Process is a methodology for developing software and UML is the language often used to describe the object-oriented process behind it. So in a way RUP has the underlying tone of UML to it. Some of this is mentioned in the wikipedia article. UML is the helper language to RUP.
I think you can successfully tackle UML and RUP on their own and then know that in the steps of RUP you model with UML. I can see why they are giving you separate interviews for it. They want to know if you can model real life problems to computing solutions (UML modelling) and then with RUP they want to know how well you are at designing a solution given a set applied methodology. So at the end you have gone through the RUP process that generated UML models which can then be applied to software/database design.
