What would be the best degree for a person interested in music and business (please read details)?

I love music. If I am listening to music, looking up music, and playing guitar around 60% of the day (summer day). I am also interested in getting a major in the business category. What degree would get me a job featuring business and music and makes a lot of money. Also, what universities would you recommend for this major. I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA (like 4.2 weighted) and take a bunch of honors and AP courses.

I’m a music major and I think I can help you!

I’m going to be honest, to get into a music program at a University, you can be as dumb as a stump, you just need to be able to play an instrument at an advanced level and know a lot of theory. You ALWAYS have to audition to get into the Dept where every you go. Obviously you aren’t going to have a problem being accepted into the university. If you do fail your auditions though, they do not let you take one music related class!

Music Business is a major and so is music production and technology. It all has to do with #’s and money.

Let me warm you, Do NOT try to double major. Music majors barely graduate in 4 years. My Freshman year I had 8 music classes and 3 Gen Ed classes/ semester. There is NO breathing room. And this was with taking 2 required classes over the summer too, so I really would of had to take 2 more classes but I had the time/money to do it in the summer.
