Preparation for College – High School Senior?
I’m about to be a high school senior, and I need to know what I can do to prepare for college physically and mentally. I want to double major in general business and music (please don’t try to persuade me otherwise on the music major) so what courses should I take for those? Should I also find out about internships? Should I start doing volunteer work? What can I do to make myself look good in the eyes of the people choosing who they want to go to their colleges.
College Choices:
-Howard University
-Prairie View A&M University
-Texas Southern University
-Spelman College
-Hampton University
Don’t worry about double majoring in those two things – I am double majoring in French and something else (I don’t know what yet), and I know what it’s like to have people telling me that it’s not worth it. If you love it, it’s worth it!!
If you have accounting in school, I would take that. Music theory as well, along with the average orchestra/band/choir, which I am sure you take. Maybe search for internships….
Definately do volunteer work; community service looks amazing to colleges!!
Good luck!
