This small and mid-size business Corporate ERP and MRP application is relatively new on US accounting software market, however it is so flexible and robust (plus it has SAP brand, which is important in the sense of reliability and future commitment), that it provides tough competition to such traditional lower mid-market Corporate ERP applications as Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly known as Great Plains Dynamics), Microsoft small business Financials (this small business corporate ERP is discontinued with the last version 9.0), Accpac, MAS 90 and 200 (from Sage Software). SAP B1 has SDK, which allows you to integrate existing ecommerce website to SB1 Invoices (or Sales Orders), of course you can use SDK for various SAP BO modules, if this is your objective. For initial data conversion and migration to SAP Business One we recommend you to consider free tool – SB1 Data Transfer Workbench, where you can review sample CSV files for migrating various objects (Business Partner, GL Account, Sales Invoice, etc.). We would like to offer you reading this small publication, where we are reviewing SB1 consulting topics:
1. How to select SAP Business One Reseller and implementation partner? There are several aspects in our opinion in selection process. First of all, you should try to find SB1 VAR by your industry expertise (here you should decide on the tradeoffs between SAP Business One consultant to be local and being experienced in your industry). The advantages of SAP B1 8.8 are apparent, especially when you are multinational corporation and plan to utilize SBO for your international subsidiaries in such countries, as Brazil, China, Russia, Germany, France, India, Great Britain, Spain, South America, Caribbean. SAP Business One 8.8 has the advantage over 2007A/B, that it could be deployed on the same Microsoft SQL Server for all international branches
4. SB1 local service in Chicago, Atlanta. Our local service is available in Northern Illinois, Georgia. We are happy to offer you USA, Canada and international support (including such countries as Brazil and Russia), however if your Corporate ERP selection policy requires local presence, we can commute to your office, if you are located in Northern Illinois (Chicagoland metro area) or in Georgia (Atlanta metro area)
5. Migrating from legacy accounting software. Popular examples are Great Plains Accounting (GPA) for DOS, Windows or Macintosh, MYOB, PeachTree, QuickBooks. In international environment you may also be in migration from Microsiga to SAP Business One (Brazil), or from 1S Bukhgalteria (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine)

Business Application?
With a business application I plan on starting a small seventeen mile short line railroad which would operate through five different towns and cities in two different counties and was wondering how does someone do this with a business license. since my business would operate through 2 different counties does that mean that I must apply for a state license or something else is that I have wondered with a business application when they say location do they just want the name of the office and headquarters of my business.
with this do I do the location as plainfield and than operate through plainfield, shorewood, joliet and morris, illinois?
I own three shortlines and have owned two others. To my knowledge I never got a business license for any of them. The only time it ever came up was with the Bank of America folks who one day asked for one from every state I operated in and every town. Needless to say I bank at USBank now.
