What’s the best way to get out of debt and restore credit?
I am a 28 year old Canadian guy with about $20,000 in debt, mostly from a student loan from about 7 years ago.
I am just starting a small business, and do not have much at all to make payments, but need to restore my credit in order to use it for my business asap.
I’ve been doing research into credit counselling, but am suspicious of the fact that all the big credit couselling agencies are funded mostly by creditors, and I’m sure they would not be very likely to give unbiased advice due to that. I’m curious about Loan forgiveness, grants, and if I am able to apply for reductions at this point. I hear bankruptcy should be avoided at all costs.
