Turquoise Blue: This color is a very soft yet very vibrant color that can enhance and highlight any outfit. This universal hue can be combined with most colors for casual and formal events. Have poor personal credit and want to open a small business, any ideas on microloans or real grants for women?
I have checked all the supposed grants lists that you have to purchase and most of the grants available to women owned business are not for start-ups. They appear to be for tools once you are already in business, like money to pay an IT person or accountant if you need it. SBA has a 10,000.00 microloan that you still have to have good credit to get for a start up but I will need about 20,000.00 total. I can try to get a tax id number but even that would be New credit which can be worse than no credit. Anyone have this as a specialty or gone through this same situation lately?
First, the SBA Microloan Program has a maximum of $35,000 not $10,000 (though the average loan amount is $13,000) http://www.sba.gov/services/financialassistance/sbaloantopics/microloans/index.html
While microloans offer smaller amounts, it doesn’t mean that the requirements of these microloan providers are any less tough than the bank. They also require collateral, good personal credit even the guarantee of the business owner.
As for grants, there’s no such thing as grants for helping start a business — even for women. What women can avail of are some specific loan programs for women as well as certification programs that allow women owned businesses to compete better in the government subcontracting process. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.
