The very first thing which you always do after getting a keyboard is to learn the names of the keys on it as there are only twelve different types of keys on it. Taking the white keys into consideration, the alphabet goes from A to G. So every white key has one of these names. The black keys come in a group of two which is followed by a group oh three. A group of notes played at the same time is known as a chord. The type of chord is determined by the same notes that are being played. Chords can be played with any number of notes that the people can play with.
Piano chords are the basic building blocks of all modern type of music. The music you play on the keyboard totally depends upon the chord being played at that moment. You should know the basics of piano chords so that you can develop chords for any kind of music. Learning the chords is not an easy task and you need to put a lot of dedicated hard work to learn them.
While playing a piano both your hands need to be work at the same time. While your right hand will be busy with the melody of the tune, your left hand takes the responsibility of adding chords to the tune. Piano chords are basically two or three notes which are played at the same time. But when you use three note chords, it is known as triads.
There are three major chords which you need to learn about and they are C, F, and G chords. Each key is marked with a chord and so to play piano chords you need to press the keys marked for that chord. Hence to play C Major Chord, you will have to press C, E and G at the same time. Make sure you are not just reading this; you must have an instrument in front of you so that you can get a practical experience. Sometimes you even need to learn some piano chords as it becomes a necessity.
While playing a tune, you will always need an online piano chords sheet that will tell you where to place the piano chord with respect to the tune. So to start off you need to play the first note of the song with your right hand and simultaneously use your left hand to play the piano chord corresponding to it by reading through the online piano chords. You can continue this method for the whole song. Keep referring to the online piano chords. If you find it difficult to learn the chords, you can take a print out of the online piano chord sheet along with you while you are playing.
It has never been easy for a beginner to play songs on a piano and hence keeping the online piano chords sheet has been found to be really helpful. At the time of learning the piano chords do keep a copy and a pencil with you so as to note down your weak points on which you can improve later on.

If I’m going to Berklee for Music Business why do I have to audition?
I’m not “experienced” on guitar but I know my simple chords, and have made some amazing songs.
I want to go for music business so I’m not sure if they will see my audition as a big thing. What if I don’t know most of the things. I know there is a sight reading section (I can’t sight read). Also you need to improvise on something they play (I need a lot of time to be able to do this).
You have to audition because all Berklee students are required to take a certain amount of labs and ensembles (performance classes) and private lessons in addition to more theoretical classes. If you plan on majoring in music business and make that clear, it’s possible that they’d weigh your audition a little more lightly, but it will definitely still matter. Otherwise, students could just say they were going to major in business but switch to performance or something once at the school.
If by “can’t sight read” you mean “can’t read music,” that will definitely be a problem because reading music (and even sight-reading) are very central to many of the core classes at Berklee. Improv is not quite such a big deal- if you want you can mostly avoid having to improv in classes- but it’s a very valuable skill and one that they appreciate.
Work as much as you can on these things before your audition- you can definitely learn them. If you don’t already take lessons on guitar, I would highly suggest it. A teacher can help you not only with these things but with a lot of other technical and performance skills that will greatly improve your musicianship.
