Mod Sims 3 content for beginners?
I have a lot more time on my hands than I like and I want to pursue starting a small online business by providing hi-quality TS3 mods and builds for small donations and/or membership fees. I have some familiarity with TS2 but I just wanted to know what kinds of programs and online tutorials/resources I should check out to learn how to make great TS3 objects for my project. Ironically, all the best information, tutorials, and tools on mods, texturing and meshing for The Sims 3 are on completely free sites.
The best objects, patterns and mods are also on completely free sites. A majority of these downloads are of higher quality than those found on paysites, but there are good and bad on both sides. The people who post on free sites are incredibly generous with their time, tutorials, critiques and assistance to new creators.
Donations are completely optional, unlike some sites that charge *donation* fees for certain items and sets. Sites that charge fees by requiring ‘donations’ are often looked down on and pirated.
All of which makes your question very, very ironic.
Most of the best free items available for download also have a requirement that if you use the creator’s work as a basis for your own, the resulting item may not be posted on a pay/”donation” site, or the Exchange.
If I knew any worthwhile pay sites I’d offer some links. Perhaps check out The Sims Resource? There are the odd tutorial or two on the Exchange (on the official The Sims 3 site) that are posted in story format if you search for them.
