Using Employment History Searches – A Boon To small business Settings
When the hunt for the right employee is taking place on a nationwide basis, and even extends to the international arena, however small the business maybe, the companies have to use many verification factors that would give the complete database of any person, and this is called an employment history search, widely known as college verification.
The employers, especially the small ones have the necessity to make a very careful analysis of every other position that is vacant and has to keep in mind the right person when doing the employment history search. Many a times, the employers take in temporary workers for small positions and analyze them.
The habit of paying an online employment search firm to get the right person for your job might be a simple task, as someone else is doing it, but, most of the employers prefer doing it themselves, so that they can handpick their employees, and they can even contact the previous employer of an individual to get information about the latter. A proper, perfect employment search costs somewhere near $50.
In case the position is public, or if it requires an immediate hire in positions that will give an individual the right to take decisions for the firm, which is important, then, the history search helps. In case of a small company, a need like this does not arise, as the owners are the decision makers.
These searches are available on the internet and they can be used as public records also. These are the records that your new employer might look out for when he is searching for a person to employ in a position that is important for his company.
There is very little that just an employment history can tell you about an applicant for a job. In case you are a person who is in the Human Resource Department of a big firm, then, the employment history search would be of great help, as it gives you a good idea about a person who is recommended for a very high post in your company. Apart from this, a questioning session will always help.
In case the employment search history gives you improper details about a candidate that you are impressed about, and then, you are apprehensive now, after reading what is there in the history, then, a personal interview would always help you narrow down the choices. After all, the data in the history can also be wrong.
Even though there are some constraints in this method, the small business people have a great advantage when the employment history search is concerned. This will surely help the company find a person who can fit the bill.

Which business software is right for me?
We are a property maintenance company. We need software for the following:
1. A works order comes into the office for a certain property address. This may be a total refurbishment needing as many as 8 separate sub-contractors to attend.
2. We need to be able to log the work order and note which contractors are going along with dates etc
3. Need to be able to easily search by property address so as any staff member can see progress at any time
4. Need to be able to search database by sub contractor to see which jobs they still have outstanding
5. Each property should have a file which shows history of any works carried out previously
6. Generate reports showing jobs outstanding, jobs completed etc
7. Update records when a contractor has completed their part of project or submitted their invoice etc
Overall it needs to be easy for any staff member who may get a query in the office to tap in the property address and see exactly what is happening with the job
