All you have to do is go to google and type in free business plan software, and you will be presented with several sites giving you freebies. One site with free business plan software is diybizplan.com . This site is very user friendly. You do have to register to use the site, but that’s a small price to pay in exchange for the ability to create a business plan online free of charge.
As a matter of fact, you don’t even have to download anything to use the software. Everything is done online. How cool is that? You don’t have to worry about whether or not this nifty piece of software you’ve just downloaded is going to make your computer come to a complete halt because it’s all online. This is another free software that you can use to create your business plan.
Business plan software does not have to cost an arm and a leg. You can spend an arm and a leg on business plan software if you wish. It would make more sense for you to at least get the basics done using the free stuff that is out there before shelling out money for business plan software.

Hi everybody…answers, advices, links relating to my questions will be much appreciated!!!
So my partner and I would love to start an online business. Anyone who has successfully done so or even attempted and have great advice on what we need to do, what we should do, and of course, what NOT to do would be great.
We know the basics of filing for a seller’s permit and a federal tax ID, creating a website and domain name. Any particular websites you thought is very helpful – please include in your answer. Any software that works well with online business – please also include!
We just need to know the in’s & out’s of online businesses. Please help.

Hello, the first thing you will want to do (if you are TRULY serious) is to start an LLC and protect your company. An LLC will protect your personal assets (bank account, car, home, etc) from being affected if your company is sued. If you don’t, then you will constantly run this risk. Also, you and your business partner can officially claim a 50% stake each in the company.
Another thing you might want to look into is getting a registered trademark for the company name, and buying the .com and .net for the company’s name immediately (and any other extensions that you can afford to upkeep).
Make sure you keep all of your receipts for anything business related, as you can claim them. Don’t claim anything that is considered a “borderline” business expense – it’s too risky. Claim things like domain name purchasing & renewal, web hosting, computers (only if used solely for business) and computer peripherals, ink, paper, etc.
Make sure your business plans are all in writing, with tactics/objectives/strategies, and always do extensive research on the software or content management systems you’ll be using to create the website, or you’ll be sorry if it goes out of business or doesn’t get supported anymore (huge mistake I made twice in my career).
