AACSB Online MBA Degree Programs
An Online MBA degree, or Master of Business Administration degree, is often sought by individuals working in the business sector.
An MBA offered online is nearly identical in every way to on-campus MBA programs and generally takes around 2 years to complete.
Most Distance Education Master of business administration degrees cover topics in a broad range of subjects such as management, global business strategies, strategic management, public policy, ethics, and finance.
What is the importance of AACSB Online MBA Accreditation?
AACSB accreditation is the highest standard of achievement for business schools in the world. AACSB business programs must meet the expectations of a broad range of quality standards related to the quality of education and curriculum, faculty, admission requirements, degree standards, library and computer facilities, among other factors.
Universities wishing to be accredited by the AACSB must meet or exceed these standards. Founded in 1916, AACSB’s founding members include a number of Ivy League schools such as Cornell, Columbia, Harvard, and Yale. So, when a university receives accreditation from AACSB International, it sets the university apart as an internationally benchmarked, premium university ranking among the world’s top-tier institutions.
AACSB Online MBA Programs versus Campus-Based MBA Degrees
Typically, distance Master of Business Adminstration programs vary only in the mode of instructional delivery. The degree awarded will be the same in every respect; your diploma makes no distinction in how the degree was earned, whether on-campus or online through a distance learning program. You can always confirm this by seeking counsel from the admission’s office.
Instead of attending classes full-time during the day or part-time in the evenings, Online Master of Business Administration students are able to earn their degree at home, while traveling, or anywhere there is an internet connection. The flexibility of this method of delivery allows students to continue working at their current location, a big plus for busy professionals.
Students opting to earn an AACSB Online MBA Degree can be certain that the program is held to the highest standards of quality.
Online MBA Degrees and Career Outlook
Individuals earning an AACSB Online MBA should expect to receive a salary that is about 25% to 50% higher than their peers who have earned a bachelor or associate degree. Online MBA Degree graduates may use their degree to climb the corporate ladder and position themselves for important roles in corporate business, such as CEOs, CFOs, Department Managers, and Resource Managers, among others.
The skills gained by undertaking an AACSB Online MBA program include strategic planning, critical thinking and decision making. These skills are paramount when utilized within a large firm or corporate setting.
AACSB Online MBA Colleges
An online MBA program is one well worth considering, but there are very few universities offering AACSB-Accredited MBA programs online… but there is one noteworthy exception: Northeastern University.
Northeastern University, founded in 1898, is a private university located in Boston, Massachusetts. Ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, Northeastern University’s College of Business now offers eight accredited AACSB Online MBA programs including an MBA in General Management, MBA in Marketing, MBA in Finance, MBA in International Management, MBA in Technology Management, MBA in Healthcare Management, MBA in Entrepreneurship, and an MBA in Supply Chain Management.

What kind of job can I get with a degree in business management?
I have 13yrs experience working in the field of optometry presently and I do a variety of duties from clinical patient care, chairside assisting with the doctor, order & supply of all materials& pharmaceuticals, billing, administrative duties and buying and selling products. I plan on earning a degree in business administration and I would like to stay in the same field. I just want to explore what my “future” job title may be. Any suggestions?
If you like the field you’re in and you have 13 years’ experience, I don’t know whether a degree is necessary to keep doing what you are doing. How do you perceive it will help you?
Before you spend the money and time to get a degree, be sure you know where you are going and what you really want to do. Is your ultimate career goal to run an optometry office? If that is your dream job, you sound like you are pretty close to it already with on-the-job experience. You may not need to spend nearly $40,000 and many hours of your free time to do it. If you want a degree in business administration in order to make more money on a job with more responsibility, just make sure it’s a growth field that pays a salary that will make it worth it to you in the end.
In other words, don’t get a degree just to say you have a degree. Make sure what you really want to do — your dream job — requires this particular course of study to advance in it. Otherwise, you will expend a lot of time and effort to find you’re no more desirable in the job market than you are now. Colleges and universities are just like every other enterprise in a capitalist economy — they have a product to sell and a vested interest in making people believe it is necessary to succeed.
If you really want a career in managing business offices, talk to some veterans in the position and find out their background. What do they think about college-level business studies? You could also visit professional associations for business administrators and ask people there about it.
Good luck!
