What group benefits most from affirmative action quotas college admission, jobs grants gov’t contracts etc?
IE. In Chicago you have a huge advantage if you are a minority owned business. If you are a white male and own a business you don’t have a chance of winning a City bid. In California to be in the Department of Natural Resources a White male used to need to score of 99.5% out of 200 questions correct to be considered for the job whereas a black female only had to get 48% correct. This statistic is old and I hope this has been changed by now though I’m sure there is still a great difference in requirements. I know if you are here illegally there are a lot of benefits like free college education at some state schools, in state tuition at others, subsidized loans for housing in Illinois, free health care, etc. though my question isn’t immigration based, it’s for citizens.
Face it, in today’s world, a middle class working white man stand less of a chance than a snowball surviving a week in hell.
The job opportuntiy is geared towards the blacks, women and illegal immigrants, not the white man, and this included the chance for education.

Business Ethics: The Ethical Revolution of Minority Shareholders $33.77 pThis monograph is based on qualitative and inductive research. All the cases treated in it are based on current events and try to find the common aspects and basic rules that govern the wrongdoing to the minority shareholders. In the four cases of US, French and Israeli companies, most of them in high tech, the minority shareholders lose almost all their investment. Those are not pervert cases but the norm in many companies, which is illustrated by qualitative cases, without being able of course to quantify them. Case studies are the preferred strategy when how and why questions are being posed. The purpose of this monograph is therefore to analyze why and how companies do not act ethically towards their minority shareholders, not how many, not which, not to what degree and not where. |

Racial Discrimination and Minority Business Enterprise: Evidence from $179.95 Using a large microdata sample from the most recent decennial census, this book documents the economic disparities facing minority-owned business owners relative to non-minorities. The book incorporates a wide range of geographic and industrial categories and demonstrates that these disparities persist even when other important factors such as education, experience, wealth and family structure are held constant. Self-employed business owners comprise an important and growing sector of the U.S. economy. In contrast to wage workers, the issue of discrimination against minority business owners has received little attention from economists. However, recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions have made the continued constitutionality of affirmative action in public sector purchasing and contracting contingent upon documenting the existence of discrimination against such businesses within relevant geographic or industrial boundaries. The author shows that among prime working age males, being an entrepreneur is a relatively more lucrative form of employment, on average, than working for a wage. Typically, however, non-Hispanic whites become entrepreneurs at much higher rates and receive much higher earnings than their black, Hispanic, and Native American counterparts. The author’s findings of racial and ethnic disparities are strongest for black and Native American entrepreneurs. Positive levels of discrimination facing Hispanic and Asian entrepreneurs are also documented. The book also includes discussion of relevant Supreme Court decisions, how economists attempt to measure discrimination and the major sources of data available for studying minority business enterprise. |

Attention should be called to the destructive nature of such acts, and the fact that, taken together, they constitute a group of courses which are outside the regions of legitimate business, and present an urgent need for equitable relief. Having explained both forms of abuses in their order, a few words will suffice to describe the attitude of the courts toward these elapses of wrongs, generally. Attitude of Courts. Where it is plain that the company is being conducted for the benefit of the majority, to the injury of the minority interests, and the directors or officers have begun, or are entering upon, transactions that may cause their personal interests to become adverse to the corporation, equity will not confine its inquiry to the surface, but will look deeply into the matter.
